Yep, sorry, Steve.  Someone pointed out to me privately that you had typed
"dervied" and not "derived".  I definitely consider it English, but was
commenting that it came over "direct and whole" as a borrowing, not some
kind of derivation.  Forgive my dyxlia.  ;-)    Millie
