I "see" that comment with one eyebrow raised :-)   "..., captain."

Or "saw" the word with stress on the "oc" and then inserted a schwa by
their own (dialectal?) rule, bringing it away from (a non-epenthetic
pronunciation of) "Shockley" and towards "apocalypse" and "broccoli".
