FWIW, I just heard Sandra Bullock on "The Daily Show" refer to 9/11 as "the
events." I hadn't heard that clipping of "the events of September 11th"
before.

She was talking about her new movie and said (I'm quoting from memory here,
so it's not an exact quote, but its pretty close): "Mayor Bloomberg did a
lot for us because we were the first movie to film in the city since the
events." There was no other mention or discussion of 11 September in the
interview.
