Upselling

BTW: A related term (told to me during my porn biz research) is
"cross-selling" (Barron's Business Terms has this as "cross
merchandising"). This is the vertical answer to upselling. If the
customer doesn't like the direct offering, similar products or services
(by the same or a partnered company) can be found right next to it. Or
perhaps the customer REALLY likes the product or service, so here are a
number of related items he/she will LOVE.
