I need the number of words in the vocabulary of the average, moderately literate American, broken down into spoken, written (if significantly different from spoken), and reading. I know the last is dramatically higher than the first, bu I need some numbers. I also realize this can't be easily nailed down, and there may be a range. Appreciate it. D
