In Germany in the early 1960s there was a concoction called Sportsbier
(pronounced, of course, Schportsbier). It was popular as a refersher when
playing soccor and presumably other energetic activities. A mix of half
beer and half "Lemonade," a bottled soft drink similar to Sprite. It was
very refreshing.
