colorway

Apparently "colorway" = "color scheme". There are thousands of Web
instances, but I never encountered "colorway" before AFAIK. It seems that
you can have something like: "These trousers come in only two colorways:
you can choose puce with cerise trim, or chartreuse with fuchsia trim." Why
not use "scheme"? Perhaps there's a technical need for another level of
organization in some industry?
