(This book was in Columbia's Annex...The revised OED's first citation is this same author, from 1865.  Is that going to be it?  In all of DARE and OED, one citation from this book for "meeting house"?  It's not my call, but c'mon!!...The American Periodical Series online is not finished yet.  PUCK and LIFE and SPIRIT OF THE TIMES aren't online yet.  It's going to get much better in the next six months.  It's like the American Memory and Making of America databases in that you have to keep checking it for new additions--ed.)
