_Clubs Go Upscale With "Downtempo"_
(...) However, since the mid-1990s, a new strain of dance music has emerged and it couldn't be more different. It's a lush, cinematic musical style called downtempo or chillout, and its creators dote more on the nuanced sounds of jazz, bossa nova and dub (instrumental) reggae than hip-hop, rock or R&B. (...)
