Chair. Lewis Department of Humanities, Illinois Institute of
Technology, Chicago, seeks a teacher-scholar in any humanities
discipline with administrative experience. The successful candidate
must be able to lead and advocate effectively to take advantage of
growth opportunities. We are especially interested in candidates
whose excellent research and undergraduate teaching complement the
department's current strengths in the humanistic study of science,
technology, architecture, and the city. We seek candidates who can
develop faculty, programs and curricula that will be of interest to
IIT's diverse, international student body.
IIT is a mid-sized, private university specializing in educating
engineers, scientists and architects. IIT also offers extensive
graduate and professional programs in business, design, law and
psychology. The humanities department offers a B.S. degree in
Humanities as well as several B.S. and M.S. degrees in technical
communication and information architecture; it also offers
undergraduate general education courses in history, art and
architectural history, philosophy, literature, language, and
communication.
Rank: tenured associate or full professor. Salary: competitive. Send
