the miscast Net

I am 76, and "net" calls up images of fishing, hair, tennis and such nets.
But a dictionary is supposed to reflect contemporary usage; hence my
question. Not that a lexicographer can afford a systematic survey of
contemp.usage for each and every vocab.entry. Databases will remain our main
source of evidence, but occasionally you feel like asking a live audience
how they feel about a certain word or usage.

Thanks.

TOM.
