   The actors are all hams.
OED has 1960, and these cites are a year earlier, for the same theatre.
I had posted "theater restaurant" from 1937. Food and entertainment together is not a new idea...The first "dinner theatre" trademark is from 1963...I didn't see this stuff in the TIMES OF LONDON.

14 March 1959, NEW YORK TIMES, pg. 26:
Gary McHugh, Carl Sawyer, and Clifford Daily have announced they will open their Meadowbrook (N. J.) Dinner Theatre on April 21 with "Guys and Dolls."

16 April 1959, NEW YORK TIMES, pg. 29:
Allan Jones will begin an engagement next Tuesday night as Sky Masterson in the musical, "Guys and Dolls," at the new Meadowbrook Dinner Theatre in Cedar Grove, N. J. Besides presenting full-length shows, the management serves dinner and provides dance music toward the end of the program.
