mosh pit. slam dancing

I wouldn't think NY was the home of the mosh pit. DC
was more the beginning of the hardcore scene where I
suppose moshing started. Though LA is a possibility.
FWIW 'slam-dancing' went by several different names in
Philly back in 83-84: skanking, thrashing, moshing,
and the variant stage-diving.
