Softscape and hardscape

[Michael Quinion]

When I was working with a large landscape architects' practice in
Bristol (UK) ten years ago, the usual terms were "hard landscaping"
and "soft landscaping" and these were the standard terms we put into
the thesaurus of terms we were creating.
