For me, growing up north of Boston, it was "jimmies" most of the
time, and "sprinkles" some of the time.  Actually, I think
"sprinkles" occurred for me almost exclusively in the context of
Friendly's "marshmallow and chocolate sprinkles" sundaes.
FWIW, Friendly's originated in Wilbraham, MA, just a couple of
towns east of Springfield.
