CICCHETTI

From the NEW YORK POST, 23 July 2003, pg. 47, col. 1:

_Forget spaghetti--try the cicchetti_
By CYNTHIA KILIAN
TODAY'S word is cicchetti (cheh-KEH-tee). Use it at Le Zoccole in the
East Village and prepare for a treat.
The Venetian version of tapas is the specialty at this 3-month-old osteria
owned by Claudio Bonotto and Remi's Francesco Antonucci. They also own
Chelsea's Le Zie, and if you're familiar with the menu there, the one here will
evoke deja vu.
The difference between them is that in addition to a generous $15.95
cicchetti sampler, Le Zoccole offers the savory bites in single portions at the
bar.
But that multi-tiered sampler will keep two happily picking for a while on
a pleasing selection of 11 little plates of mostly seafood and vegetables.

There are many hits (17,000) for this as a name. There are 147 Google hits
for "cicchetti" with "tapas."
I hope you're sitting down. This is going to shock you.
"Cicchetti" is not in the OED!

CORONARY IN A CONE

This is on AOL today, courtesy of WebMD.
Oh, those inventive little doctors. Heart attack on a plate. Cholesterol
on a stick. Heart attack on a can. And ice cream is--

A Coronary in a Cone

Aside from the high sugar content of most ice cream treats, researchers say
premium ice creams are higher in artery-clogging saturated fats than their
regular and reduced-fat counterparts.
