According to Geneva Smitherman's _Black Talk_ (2000), 'What go round
come round' was "found to be the most frequently used proverb in the
African American community" (pp. 295-296), study reported in her 1987
_Journal of Black Studies_ article, "Makin a Way Outa No Way: The
Proverb Tradition in the Black Experience," with Daniel and Jeremiah.
It is also listed in Chapman's _New Dictionary of American Slang_
(1986, p. 463).
