   I re-checked "Brown Bomber" and "Bronx Bomber" on the ancestry.com
newspapers.
   The first "Bronx Bomber" was not a New York Yankee, but a big Jewish kid
who played for Detroit.

   19 April 1936, CHARLESTON DAILY MAIL (Charleston, West Virginia), pg. 13,
col. 2:
   Greenberg is strictly for more purchasing power for ball players.  The six
foot four inch, 210 pound Bronx Bomber points out that they are great
consumers, and that a great injustice is being done.
