I learned 'ek-see-tay-ra' in grade school (I was raised in French, in
Montreal). When I speak English I say 'ek-seh-teh-rah', I changed the final
three syllables to English, but not the first.
I'm reading Jan's and your emails, and trying out 'et-se-te-ra' and it feels
very different for me. Any other Canadians on the list wishing to share
about 'etc'? I wonder if my pronounciation is 'French Canadian English' or
whether it's similar to others here.
I'll do some informal research tonight at the pub :)
