WALTER WINCHELL'S COLUMN--I noticed his column running every day in 1931 in the NEW ORLEANS ITEM. Unfortunately, it was too late (past 7:30 p.m.) to order more microfilms. As I've written before, the NEW YORK GRAPHIC has many years missing. Might the N.O. ITEM cover the missing years of Winchell's column?

EGG SALAD SANDWICH--It's earliest in the WASHINGTON POST. There are over 5,000 Google hits for this sandwich...Oh, the things I do for this "sandwich lady."
