And thus was why I started the "jerk rule" of pronunciation: i.e.,
so that when an English speaker says a non-English word, he/she
shouldn't sound like a total jerk. Every language has phonemes or
allophones not heard in other languages. I've always thought one
should get as close to the "correct" pron as possible, while still
using an English sound system.
And don't you just love the new Jack-in-the-Box chipotle commercial?
