   DARE has 1977-78, "ice pop n esp NYC area  A confection made by freezing fruit juice or a similar liquid on a stick."  Other variations are "ices, "icicles," and "popsicles."
   Not to be confused with something you shouldn't do to your father.
   I checked "ice pop" against the full text NEW YORK TIMES. You can ruin your eyes looking through the two classified ads...The earliest trademark is from the 1960s.
