DARE has "daisy ham" (also "daisy roll"), "chiefly NEng," "a pork shoulder butt which has been boned, cured, and rolled." The first citation is a 1959 Fannie Farmer COOKBOOK.
The 1977 citation in DARE says that "daisy rolls and daisy hams are the same product," and that the term was coined by "an enterprising Armour salesman." I didn't find a relevant trademark, and the first citation below is "Swift-Premium."
Merriam-Webster has "circa 1938" for "daisy ham." OED--always miserable on food--has no entry.
This New England term is just the sort of thing that the newly available CHRISTIAN SCIENCE MONITOR full text should destroy, and it does.
