This is one of those stunt mutations in search of a usage. It's been
repeatedly submitted to the Jargon Watch column since at least 2001
(with few reliable cites), always meaning something different: being
bombarded by junk mail, being verbally attacked via email, and being
hit on/stalked via email. Nice to know that sometimes these silly
coinages won't  stick no matter how much people try to promote them.
