I'd guess this is similar to the "nucular" question, where (as we've
discussed) there are comparatively many -cular adjectives, and only a
couple of -clear ones ("nuclear" and "cochlear" were the only ones I
could think of), so the more unusual form is assimilated to the more
usual one.  There are -@'logical adjectives up the wazoo (if you'll
pardon the technical vocabulary), and how many -@'gogical ones can
you think of?
