words of prey

Unless it's a regionalism or neologism, I don't think it has any meaning as
it stands.

My naive guess is that it's a malapropism: he was using nasty language,
maybe obscene or racial epithets, and some citizen reached deep for an
appropriate description, likely "words of abuse" or so, and got it garbled,
mixed with "birds of prey".
