Antedating of "Fan"

   Greetings from Sevare, Mali.  I hate this French keyboard.
   I had posted the 1886 SPORTING NEWS citations for "fan" as far back as last August.  No one remembers?  I also did some ProQuest research on baseball pitches last year...I had actually found an 1886 SPORTING NEWS "fan" even before that.
