I am uncertain from context just what reverse McCarthyism is. I have
often thought that the use of the word "racist" by some civil rights
activists was McCarthyism, i.e., using an epithet to supress any
disagreement as McCarthy and his ilk used "communist." Is this what is
being called reverse McCarthyism? That would be not the technique being
reversed but the political leaning.

FWIW, I was present and witnessed the Rockefeller gesture at the
Binghamton NY airport. My moment in history.
