having just noted a use of the slang noun "dip", with a related
adjective "dippy", i searched for clearly adjective uses of "dip" ("is
really dip", "how dip (of) a"), with no success.  but then i thought of
the very similar "ditz", and hit (small amounts of) paydirt:
