Downstate Illinois

The State of Illinois apparently understands Downstate Illinois to mean
anything outside the Chicago metro area, to the northwest corner and south
to Cairo. I just received a notice from the Illinois Secretary of State
regarding driver's license renewal and there are two phone numbers given.
The statement reads: "... please call:
             Metro - 630-293-1191 or Downstate - 217-785-3013"
Area code 630 is a nw Chicago burb and 217 is Springfield.

So whether they like it or not, Egyptians are, at least in the mind of the
Illinois Secretary of State, Downstaters.
