1894 _Chicago Daily Tribune_ 10 Nov. 5 (ProQuest)  In an alleged poisoning
at Hazleton, Ia., recently, it was found the children had eaten
voraciously of crab apples and drank a great deal of water before they
consumed the candy.  The blame for their illness was laid at the door of
some innocent jelly beans.
