OK Barry - about the three-part fruit: how about the feijoa?

Looks like a lime.

Cut it open, looks like a kiwi.

Tastes like a kiwi-lychee fruit.

Available in New Zealand.

And, absolutely delicious.

Cheers -

THE NEXT KIWI

I've discussed the origin of the "kiwi" and blends like the "pluot." I'm
still waiting for a three-part fruit name, like the traveshamockery of
turducken.
For those interested, see THE WALL STREET JOURNAL, 27 May 2004, pg. D1,
col. 3:

_The Search for the Next Kiwi_
_Growers of Exotic Fruits_
_From Cherimoya to Pluots_
_Vie for Mainstream Appeal_
(...)
(Pg. D7 box--ed.)
_The Next Killer App(le)_ Some exotic fruits that are gaining a foothold in
grocery stores
   Blood Orange
ALIAS: Moro orange
   Cherimoya
ALIAS: Custard Apple
   Lychee
ALIAS: Lychee nut
   Kiwano
ALIAS: African horned cucumber; jelly melon
   Passion fruit
ALIAS: Granadilla
   Starfruit
ALIAS: Carambola
  Ugli Fruit
ALIAS: Uniq Fruit

(I've traveled all around and don't think of the above fruits as "exotic,"
but maybe that's just me--ed.)
