<<A whammy is a sports term which indicates that somebody is attempting to
put a hoodoo on someone else. It is fairly common in fight circles. / One
of the leading exponents of the whammy, however is a baseball man -- Doc
Weaver -- trainer of the St. Louis Cardinals. The Doc is a specialist and
uses what he calls a double whammy, which he strives for whenever the Cards
are in a tough game.>>
