I had, until know, only heard of "vaporware" as being computer software that has been announced (for building pre-release buzz), but never is actually released. Here: http://instapundit.com/archives/018535.php the word is being used to refer to a television commercial which is produced and filmed, but never actually broadcast as an ad.
