This is more enlightening than I had ever hoped.

The shoes in question are indeed stiletto heels with straps. The stiletto
heel is supposed to make legs look sexier. The heels and straps would also
suggest that this gal isn't running anywhere very fast.

I also appreciate the comment about the thigh-high boots. I once bought a
pair for a doll inadvertently on sale, since they had been described as
knee-high. It didn't pay to return them, but I had no idea what went with
them until I saw a billboard for a "gentlemen's club" in Connecticut, which
suggested fishnets and hot pants.

And this year, one of the new Ru Paul dolls wears them.
