Very prevalent use now among saavy blogsters and the 20-30
year olds online.

>From my ancient MW:

dialect: snark to annoy, perhaps alteration of nark to irritate
Date: 1906

But the origin of nark as a transitive verb is unknown (according
to Merriam-Webster), although it dates it to 1888.
