1821 Lady Morgan _Italy_ II. 140 (Making of the Modern Economy)  The
vehemence with which the question of Romanticism has been debated, will
have a favourable influence upon the Italians, by rousing their literati,
and turning them from the frivolous and almost childish subjects, which
too frequently have employed their pen.
