weirdness

In an article in the NYT Science Times section this week, Anton Zeilinger
(U. of Vienna) is reported to have said:

"The world is not as real as we think.  My personal opinion is that the
world is even weirder than what quantum physics tells us."

I sometimes think that this is true of linguistics.  Language is weirder
than linguistics tells us.
