Adams indeed worked on Dr Who, but not until the show, which began in
November 1963,  had been going more than a decade. The creator of
'timelord' (assuming, that is, that it was created for the show, and I
have no proof thereof - maytbe Jesse's science fiction citations file
could help?)  was perhaps Anthony Coburn, C.E. Webber or Terry Nation,
the writer I recall on many early episodes.
