Spilling Scotch

Tasting some scotches at a friend's house last night, I thought it
interesting that he suggested I "spill" my current scotch out and take
another. When I demurred, he told me he'd spill it for me. He took my glass
into the kitchen and emptied it into the kitchen.

I can't find this meaning on Google or in the OED. Has anyone else seen
this?
