London strikes

on the road, 7/21/05, i noticed (on an airport monitor) on CNN the N
+N compound "London strikes" used to mean "London attacks" (i.e.
'attacks in London').  comprehensible if you have the right mindset
(fixed on bombings rather than industrial actions), but otherwise it
takes a little time to figure out. a nice little ambiguity.
