Abstract:Douglass writes to George W. Curtis, editor of Harper's weekly, praising the political cartoons of Thomas Nast, suggests a German edition of Harper's to counteract Frank Leslie's illustrated newspaper, and recommends circulating the newspaper in the South to offset the "hostile though spiritless works of [cartoonist] Matt Morgan" in Leslie's newspaper.
