Sorry, Tom--I confused you with Fritz!  But I agree--I've never heard it up
there, in my family or in friends I see in Mpls every summer.  Like "needs"
+ past participle, it's pretty noticeable; if I were to use it
(artificially, like Larry), it'd be commented on right away.
