I'm referring to Cecil Adams's very useful, enjoyable, and almost
always reliable column (in the Chicago Reader) and web resource,
http://www.straightdope.com/, with searchable archives and other fun
stuff.  Sorry if I was too cryptic; the above web site has come up a
lot in previous discussions here, so I didn't elaborate.
