jill-farted ? ?

Surely a misundertanding of "jillflirted." Look under "gillflirted"
in DARE. It's clearly from 'jill' (=female), indicating vaginal
injury, but the general sense of "messed up" is well-established.
Used it myself in my youth. Don;t say it no more, specially up here
in Michigan, cause folk look at me funny (well, funnier).
