Cold Feet

The metaphor "warm feet" looks like the antithesis. This occurs in French
("avoir les pieds chauds") as I recall from an earlier unrelated inquiry:

... and I think something like this occurs in German also ("warme Füsse
haben" or so), but I can't remember where I encountered this (if I really did).

Then "have cold feet" = "be impoverished/uncomfortable" might be natural
... but is this related to "have cold feet" = "be timid", or not?
