You are absolutely correct. I was wrong. I have been trying for the last
hour and a half to find some way to squirm out of it. So far, no success.

What was on my mind at the time, though, was a column I wrote a couple of
years ago in iambic pentameter., but with normal paragraphing. (Whatever
"normal" means for newspaper typographers, who are more concerned with
column inches than paragraph rules. Don't get me started.) Anyway, as far as
I know, no one noticed, that pattern is so ingrained in us.
