This should be added as a verb.

To T9 (T9ing, T9ed, etc.) is to send a message with a cell phone using T9
mode.

In T9 mode, you don $B!G (Bt worry about getting each letter. You just press the
key with the letter you have ONCE. When you finish typing a word, the cell
phone converts it into the most likely word.

So for "beg", you would type 234 and the cell phone would convert it to
"beg".

Since many combinations are ambiguous, this leads to errors. Here's a story
from: http://www.collisiondetection.net/mt/archives/000892.html

-----
Marlowe, it seems, hates eggs. He was walking home got an SMS from a friend
asking if she could borrow some eggs. He tried to type:

i have eggs but i can't vouch for them since i only bake with them and i
haven't baked in a while
... but when he looked at the keyboard, he realized that T9 had mucked up
several of the words. Instead, it read:

i hate eggs but i can't touch them since i only able with them and i haven't
baked in a while.

Other T9 errors the site mentions are

Pint=Shot
Cider=Cheer
Home=Good
