As a fan of Ron Butters and Arnold Zwicky and many other linguists on this
list, I would urge you guys to take a step back and then take a step forward
and continue sharing your insights, wit, and knowledge with the rest of us.
One of the things I love about this list is the levity, camaraderie, humor,
and erudition of the contributions. I also appreciate that you guys welcome
laymen and non-linguists like me to listen in and occasionally chip in.
