A possible antedating:
"St. Francis Beaten by Alemany, 14-0" Bill Stosskopf
California | Van Nuys | The Valley News | 1968-11-03 p. 30-A col 3
"Staying entirely on the ground and rotating between fullback Reggin
Sanderson (the first Negro to play on a St. Francis football team) and
halfback Scott Nader (brother of UCLA quarterback Jim Nader), St.
Francis marched to the Alemany 45."
Of course, "Reggin" could be a typo for "Reggie" -- I've found articles
about "Reggie Sanderson" contemporaneous with this cite.
